I love this little Pleurothallis, or Ancipitia, depending on what school of thinking you go by. It blooms for a very long time once it gets going and the snow white flowers with the sweet powder pink lip are just lovely. The solitary successive flowers measure about a centimeter tall and are perched on a short reclining spathe held just above the leaf. It is actually an intermediate grower that I insist on growing cool, but it does just fine with that too. The species come from the wet mountain forests of Costa Rica and Panama where it grows at altitudes from 800 to 1700 meters. I grow it mounted in the cool vivarium, medium light, rather wet and in high humidity with good air movement.

Hi, i have this plant too. It’s in a warm vivarium and it is being sprayed several times a day. It flowers regularly, but the bulbs never open! Do you know what is going wrong here. Previously it was kept dryer but still the flowers never opened. What am i doing wrong?
Hi Erik! Mine blooms for most part of the year and the flowers always open without any trouble. I grow it intermediate/cool, wet but fairly breezy and in high humidity, medium light. I am not sure why yours is giving you grief, but one common problem when this symptom occurs is too low relative humidity in the growing environment. Mine range never drops below 75 % and is most often higher. Good luck!
