This is a hot to cool growing epiphyte only found in Costa Rica where it grows at elevations from 200 meter all the way up to 2000 meters. The flower is not very large, about 1 cm wide, but it is very colorful and I love the intensely purple lip. This is a small division I got from a friend and it is only about 10 cm tall, but apparently Dichaea never stops growing so in-situ you can see very large plants measuring a meter long or more. I grow mine pendant, mounted on EpiWeb in the cool vivarium, fairly moist and very bright.
