My Bionaire (BCM1250) humidifier just died, after only 9 months of use … Not very impressive. But luckily I had saved the receipt and the store where I had gotten it took it back, no questions asked. In exchange, I added 100 kronor (about $12) and got an ultrasonic unit from HACE (MJS-400) instead. Sweet!!
This has a 5 liter tank instead of 3 and it runs completely silent (a big difference from the old one) and I would definitely recommend spending the little extra. Besides, it looks cooler… lol. The unit I got cost 595 kronor (about $70) since it was on sale. I am very pleased with my upgrade, and I must say I am almost glad that the old one crappped out…
The only thing that is not optimal is that I do not know if I can get it to turn on a timer … when power is switched on it comes on to a “stand by” mode, not just “on” … I usually have it on the whole night anyway, and this comes with built-in hygrostat so if the room is more humid than the setting you choose (40-70%) it shuts off automatically. I would like to have it on the timer still though … any ideas?
