Pleurothallis nudaThis is another purchase from my big Peru Flora order this spring… I grow it potted in a plastic mesh pot with EpiWeb substrate in the lower half of the cool vivarium. It has been blooming all summer and is still going strong, usually with 2-3 flowers open at a time. Each inflorescence produces more than one pendulous flower in succession and they last for a few weeks each.

Pleurothallis nuda is a small epiphyte that grows across pretty much all over of South America at varying altitudes, from as low as 500 meters up to 2100 meters. Although I am wondering if it really is the correct ID? Other photos I have seen of the species has had a lot more color, mine is missing the characteristic rose colored stripes and looks more like an alba color form – but I have never heard of an Pleurothallis nuda f. alba. Could be I suppose… ideas? Correction: Pleurothallis nuda f. white
