I have been dying to try cultivation in semi-hydro for years, and a couple of months ago I finally went for it. I chose a few test subjects and so far the result has been overwhealmingly positive! Here is a status report:
The mysterious (no name) paphiopedilum orchid that went under the working name “werewolf” due to its delicious hairy dark bud…. uhm yeah….. has finally opened up. It was well worth the wait though!!
It is almost time… aaaaalllmooost. It is taking its sweet time but I am sure it will be worth the wait in the end. Yes, it really is that dark!!
The mystery paph bud is growing and is getting hairier (and scarier) by the minute!! I can’t help to wonder if I have a new hybrid on my hand… a vinicolor x werewolf perhaps… 😉 The bud a couple of weeks ago.
